Paint Sale and Ashton on Mersey Pink campaign planned for October to raise breast cancer awareness

Help to Paint Sale and Ashton on Mersey (AOM) Pink from 01 - 15 October 2023.

Throughout the colourful two-week campaign, M33 will be taken over by pink products, promotions and events!

Paint Sale and AOM Pink campaign volunteers are looking for M33 businesses, schools, churches and local community members to get involved to help raise as much awareness as possible for Prevent Breast Cancer and much-needed funds for this charitable cause.

How can YOU get involved?

Local businesses, schools and the wider community can get involved with fundraising in a variety of ways, including a raffle, a quiz night, live music, afternoon tea or simply decorating their window displays pink, staff wearing pink tutus or putting up pink balloons.

Prevent Breast Cancer is the only charity solely committed to predicting and preventing breast cancer. Based at the Nightingale Centre at nearby Wythenshawe Hospital, it is the only breast cancer prevention clinic in the UK.

Many local residents have benefitted from the amazing work being done by Prevent Breast Cancer and as a charity that relies solely on donations to carry out vital research projects, campaign volunteers are keen to raise funds to support this cause.

Although the campaign doesn't start until October, local businesses can pledge their support and get involved now. M33 businesses already signed up include Brooklands Health Club, Walton Perk and Willow Goat Crafts

The Friends of Ashton Village have kickstarted the campaign by making their 'Village in Bloom' entry pink in honour of Prevent Breast Cancer (see images above).

A word from Prevent Breast Cancer...

Predict. Prevent. Protect. You could call it our mantra. As the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer, we’re committed to freeing the world from the disease altogether. Unlike many cancer charities, we're focused on preventing, rather than curing. By promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, we believe we can stop the problem before it starts. And being situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK, were right at the front-line in the fight against the disease.
