PeePS (Pee Paediatric Services) is set to be a lifeline for local parents and their children, offering a specialised and much-needed solution to what remains somewhat of a taboo subject. Cheryl Jennings, the founder of PeePS and an experienced Clinical Nurse Practitioner in paediatric urology, brings her 23 years of experience to offer a ray of hope to countless families.

Meet Cheryl Jennings: The expert behind PeePS

Cheryl Jennings embarked on her journey in paediatric urology after qualifying in 2000. Her passion led her to kidney and bladder care, gradually specialising in paediatric bladders. Over 13 years in this area, she honed her skills in dealing with children facing issues such as overactive bladders and daytime and nighttime wetting.

It was during this time that Cheryl noticed a pressing need for a private clinic. The NHS, overwhelmed by extensive waiting lists, often left parents and children in a state of desperation. Parents were willing to pay for the specialised services Cheryl offered, and thus, PeePS was born.

"People need this service,” says Cheryl.

“The stigma surrounding these issues makes it difficult for families to seek help. This silence can lead to problems persisting for years unnecessarily. PeePS aims to provide help right from the beginning and is available to children from five years old onwards. The earlier we intervene, the less impact these issues will have on a child's life, including potential bullying and psychological stress.”

Cheryl's role extends beyond patient care; it also involves educating parents, GPs and other healthcare professionals. Many children are simply told they'll "grow out of it," leading families to rely on this advice, even when years pass without improvement. PeePS clinic is here to change that.

Empowering parents and children to tackle bladder issues

PeePS offers a comprehensive range of services to assist children struggling with daytime wetting and bedwetting. New clients will receive an initial two-hour consultation and assessment, to understand every child's unique situation.

Review appointments will monitor progress and additional measures can be implemented as needed. Cheryl is committed to going the extra mile and is also qualified to prescribe medication if required.

More common than you might think

Research shows that 1 in 12 children suffers from bladder and bowel problems. Cheryl, drawing from her extensive experience, consistently achieves remarkable success rates, both with and without medication.

What truly sets PeePS apart in the field of paediatric urology is its specialisation in bladder problems. Cheryl's clinic is accessible to all and is on hand to ensure children – and their parents – find the help they need.

Offering a FREE 15-minute phone consultation, PeePS takes the guesswork out of seeking assistance. Moreover, its commitment to staying updated with the latest research in their specialist areas ensures that families receive the best possible care.
