Rose de la Font (pictured above) runs weekly choirs across South Manchester including the newly launched Sale Sings, Alty Voices and Chorlton Sings.

Rose's modern pop choirs launched in 2021 and aim to bring together people from across the community to improve their musicality in a fun and energetic way.

Rose is one of 50 individuals and businesses shortlisted for the awards, with the Top 10 Northern Gamechangers set to be announced at an official award ceremony on 21st September in Manchester City centre.

The brainchild of north-west based business consultancy, Elevate, the Northern Gamechanger awards was launched after noticing the little recognition available for those actually making a real difference across the region versus the formal corporate get-togethers that usually make up award ceremonies across the region.

“Seeing so many individuals and organisations across the region being nominated has been brilliant. We already knew there were plenty of people using their influence for good, but this has really highlighted the game-changing attitudes of the north’s pioneering business community,” said Katie Robson, co-founder and director of Elevate.

Sale Sings community choir launched earlier this year, with sessions taking place at Hiya in Stanley Square every Tuesday, 7.15-8.45pm.
