Dutch Courage launches new cocktail menu amid other big changes

Dutch Courage, a popular bar in Sale town centre, has launched its new cocktail menu today (30 June).

The bar, which opened on Sale’s School Road in 2020, will be serving up 15 new cocktails from its ‘Book 2’ menu. But that’s not the only difference you can expect, as the bar has implemented some other big changes recently.

While table service remains, there is no longer a service charge, which was thought to be putting some customers off frequenting regularly.

If you haven’t been to Dutch Courage recently, you might be surprised by how much the vibe has changed – it’s definitely a lot more relaxed than its previous approach, with staff in t-shirts and jeans, rather than more formal wear. Plus, the bar is now dog-friendly too.

Dutch Courage is probably best known for being a Sale cocktail bar, but the team have realised that many of us don’t fancy a cocktail at 5pm on a Thursday. So they’ve got more beers on tap than ever (six), including lagers and IPAs.

The team is also now infusing spirits in-house for their new cocktail menu.

New cocktail menu highlights include:

  • Island Omerta (£9) - Chairman’s Spiced Rum, Goslings Black Seal Rum, Velvet Falernum, lime citrus, fresh honey, fresh pineapple and cranberry juice. [Editor’s favourite!]

  • Lovely Day (£8.50) - Strawberry and raspberry infused pink gin, lemon citrus and sugar.

  • Beauty in Chaos (£9) - Finlandia Vodka, crushed cranberries, lime citrus, Cointreau and orange bitters.

🕧 Dutch Courage is open Monday - Wednesday 4-11pm, Thursday 4pm-12am, Friday-Saturday 12pm-12.30am and Sunday 12-10pm.
