EZ Hampers: the canal-side community hub with a difference

Tucked away on the tranquil banks of the Bridgewater Canal, just a 30-minute stroll from Sale or a quick tram ride to Timperley, EZ Hampers offers something far more than its name might suggest.

Its canal-side location makes it the perfect spot to stop for a coffee.

While they certainly do offer a selection of neatly packed gift baskets, inside you’ll also find a welcoming space brimming with locally made gifts, eco-conscious products and a fully licensed bar. It's the perfect place for a relaxed visit, whether you’re looking for a special gift or just a great spot to unwind by the water.

Looking for a thoughtful, eco-conscious gift? EZ Hampers has you covered!

A local business with heart

EZ Hampers is not your average gift shop. Founded by Lisa Storey at home during lockdown, she opened this community-driven space earlier this year. The idea was born out of Lisa’s personal experience in nursing and social care, where she saw firsthand the challenges faced by those with disabilities and mental health conditions. Inspired by her time creating bespoke hampers during the lockdown, Lisa wanted to bring her passion for thoughtful, personalised gifts to the community while creating an inclusive, welcoming environment. The result is a shop that feels like home, where everyone is treated with care and respect and the focus is always on supporting the local community.

EZ Hampers has a fully-licensed bar and a wide selection of wines and spirits.

Canal-side seating and a fully licensed bar

What sets EZ Hampers apart is its idyllic location and unique atmosphere. With canal-side seating, you can sit back and enjoy the view with a drink in hand. Whether you fancy a pint of Guinness, a crisp IPA or something from their wide range of wines and spirits, there’s something for every taste. If you have dietary restrictions, you’ll feel right at home here too – EZ Hampers is proud to offer gluten-free beers and a selection of drinks that cater to various allergies.

The shop is open from morning until late, with flexible hours so you never feel rushed. They are happy to stay open later if you’re having a good time! It’s not uncommon to find locals gathering here, whether for an impromptu catch-up or one of their many community-focused events, from craft workshops to lively alcohol tastings.

You'll be spoilt for choice!

A treasure trove of local gifts

Beyond the bar, EZ Hampers is a haven for those looking for unique, thoughtful gifts. Lisa has carefully curated a selection of locally made products, some of which come from Sale-based artisans. You’ll find handmade polymer clay earrings and accessories from EriClayDesign, luxurious soy wax candles and soaps from Azra Creations and small-batch gin from Lucky Bee, distilled just up the road in Ashton on Mersey.

Create your own hamper

One of the joys of visiting EZ Hampers is the ability to create a personalised gift that’s as unique as the person receiving it. Choose from the wide selection of products and let the staff help you put together a bespoke hamper that suits any occasion. Whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary or simply a thoughtful gesture, a custom hamper from EZ Hampers always feels special.

Community at its core

EZ Hampers is more than just a place to eat, drink or shop – it’s a space designed to build a sense of community. Lisa’s vision for the business is deeply rooted in her desire to create a safe, inclusive environment for everyone and this extends beyond the shop’s doors. Recently, EZ Hampers spearheaded a crowdfunding campaign to install a defibrillator along the Bridgewater Canal. Thanks to the generous support of local customers and businesses, the goal was quickly reached and the defibrillator will be officially launched later this month.

Sustainable shopping for the eco-conscious

In addition to supporting local makers, EZ Hampers is committed to sustainability. Lisa has made it a priority to stock products that are kind to the planet and the shop is set to be plastic-free by the end of the year. This includes everything from packaging to the products themselves, with many items made from sustainable or compostable materials. It’s all part of Lisa’s mission to create a business that not only serves the community but also respects the environment.
