Sale salon leading the charge to get more men to prioritise their self-care

The B Company: Sale's unisex salon that helps you to feel good inside and out.

For years, the beauty and wellness industry has been dominated by women. However, recent trends show that men are beginning to embrace self-care – but not without some hesitation. Despite the growing popularity of grooming and wellness treatments for men, many salons still face the challenge of getting men to walk through their doors. The B Company, Sale’s longstanding unisex salon offering beauty, holistic and lifestyle services, is determined to change that narrative by making self-care accessible and appealing to men.

Why are men hesitant?

While the male grooming market is growing rapidly, with an expected revenue of over £16 billion by 2030, many men still associate salons with female-only spaces. In the UK, a significant number of men avoid professional beauty and self-care treatments due to societal stigma and personal discomfort. A survey by WhereToGlow found that 95 per cent of men believe there's a stigma surrounding men receiving beauty treatments. Despite this, 67 per cent of male respondents reported receiving beauty treatments other than visiting a barber, though only 23 per cent would openly discuss these treatments with others.

The B Company is tackling these barriers head-on by creating a welcoming, inclusive environment and highlighting the tangible benefits of self-care for men.

Breaking the stereotypes

The B Company, a fully accessible salon, wants to show that beauty and wellness treatments aren’t “just for women”. The salon’s expert team is committed to helping men feel comfortable and confident in prioritising their health and wellbeing.

Salon owner Leonie Andrews explains, “We understand that it can feel daunting for men to book treatments for the first time, but self-care really is for everyone. Whether it’s a rejuvenating massage a skin-boosting facial or a grooming session, our goal is to make every client feel welcome and relaxed.”

Valentine’s Day: the perfect opportunity

To encourage more men to prioritise their self-care, The B Company is launching a Valentine’s Day campaign with men in mind. Special couples packages and gift cards are available to make it easier for men to step into the world of professional treatments.

Highlights include:

  • Vouchers: An ideal way to introduce men to self-care without pressure. These can be used on any of the salon’s treatments.

  • Couple’s massages: A shared experience with side-by-side massages, perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Leading the charge in men’s self-care

Despite the challenges, The B Company is determined to lead the charge in making self-care accessible to men. The team’s efforts align with broader trends showing that men are starting to recognise the importance of taking time out for themselves. Whether it’s to reduce stress, improve their skin or simply relax, self-care is no longer just a luxury – it’s a necessity.

This Valentine’s Day, The B Company invites you to help challenge outdated stereotypes and encourage men to prioritise their wellbeing. Whether you’re gifting your partner or booking a treatment for yourself, the salon is ready to welcome everyone.

Encourage the men in your life to prioritise their wellbeing – because they deserve it too.
