Emporium M33: What you can expect from a visit
Your shop small destination in Sale, M33. A hub of independent local businesses, all under one roof in M33.
Emporium M33, handily located on Tatton Road in the centre of Sale, is home to over 40 small, independent businesses based over three floors.
Why is Emporium M33 so important to Sale’s independent businesses?
Due to the current economic climate, opening a traditional retail unit isn't feasible – or, let’s be honest, sensible – for many independent businesses, so Emporium M33 fills an important space for providing support for many different traders.
Thanks to the huge space available, Emporium M33 is in the privileged position of being able to offer small business owners different sizes of space, whether that’s a small ‘pop-up’ area or larger square footage. By taking on a smaller space for a reasonably-priced monthly rent, business owners can test their products or ideas on local customers. Plenty of businesses have gone on to larger units elsewhere in Sale, including one of Sale’s most popular clothes boutiques, Style Agent, now located in Stanley Square.
Scott Lyons, who has run the building since 2017, prides his approach on nurturing new businesses, working with them to help them to succeed, even during turbulent economic times. He even runs the store’s central till, giving traders flexibility over the hours they work. This is ideal for those business owners who might have other jobs or family commitments.
Diversity of businesses
One of the key selling points of Emporium M33 is its diversity of business owners. We hear a lot about how the high street, and retail in general, has changed substantially over the last few years. Although many people are happy to shop online for ease or greater convenience, we know that there are plenty of people in and around Sale who are committed to shopping locally. In a recent Instagram poll we ran that received over 500 responses, 95% of respondents said that they did shop in Sale M33. And 75% of respondents to another poll stated that they shop locally more than they did two years ago. So the appetite for local shopping is definitely there.
